P3 Google Meets

P3 Parents

Please check your emails for details of our first Google Meet! (This is optional.)

For the first Meet we will start with the P3 children, however P2 will be invited to join in with a weekly meet very soon.

Look forward to speaking to you.

Ms. Mackay

Week Beginning 27th April 2020.

Week 3 already, I hope you all continue to be safe, healthy and happy. I also hope you are finding the learning guidance manageable and supportive.

The idea is that there are plenty tasks to choose from, and with your support, your child can decide which activities to pick out each day. I would recommend small bursts of different subjects, with a movement break between.

If you would like to give any feedback on the learning tasks, please email me on my Gmail account. Thank you.

Home Learning w/c 20th April

Good afternoon everyone- please find the learning guidance for this week attached. Apologies for this being later than expected; I thought it had posted and then discovered it had not! As always, do not hesitate to get in contact for further support if you need it. I hope you have all enjoyed the wonderful weather we have had. Take care, Ms. Mackay.

Google Classroom Registration

As detailed in the main News post (copied below), we have been asked to keep a daily registration for all pupils. The Google Classroom app can be downloaded to any smart mobile phone and I would suggest this is the easiest way to access this. Your child’s login is: firstname.surname@glenurquharthigh.org.uk and their password is Password1

You can change the password and keep a note of it if you wish. Mrs Laird can reset these easily if it is lost or not accessible.

You need to go into Google Classroom and then answer the question each day to register your child. Please have a go today and let myself or Mrs Laird know if you have any problems. A more detailed guide to Google Classroom can be found in the link below.

Post from News blog:

This week staff have been discussing the best way of recording attendance. Today I had it clarified from Highland Council that we need to keep a daily attendance record. Staff feel that the best way to do this would be for the already set up Google Classrooms for P4-7. These have also been established for P1-3 (please see separate post on P1/2 and P2/3 class blogs for information on accessing these for each child.) A guide to Google Classroom can be found here:

https://sites.google.com/millburnacademy.org.uk/highlanddigitalschoolshub/digital-skills/parents?authuser=0

Please can we ask that all children login to their Google Classroom and complete the registration question by 11am daily. A sample question for today has been posted for you to give it a go. If you are having any trouble with this please contact Mrs Laird on kerrie.laird@glenurquharthigh.org.uk.

Welcome back P2/3!

Hello to you all! I hope you are all healthy and that you were able to enjoy the Easter break, although it would have been different this year. I have been thinking about you all.

Please find guidance for home learning this week. The overview, number and literacy documents include guidance for learning. The spelling bingo documents are there to give you ideas of ways to practice spelling. You can contact me via my gmail address if support is needed on ashley.mackay@glenurquharthigh.org.uk

It is important to ease the children (and parents) back into doing school work . Please do not feel there is any pressure on you! This is guidance to support you.

Learning Activities w/c 23rd March

Please find some suggested learning activities attached. As it is the run up to the holidays and there is so much going on, there is no pressure to complete these tasks. Please engage with this as you see best for you and your child/ren.

If you require support, I will be checking my g-mail each day and will respond to any queries as soon as I can

Take care.

Farm to Fork topic.

Good morning everyone!

There is the opportunity to engage online with videos which are being made live from a farm. The next one is at 3.30pm today, and can be accessed through Facebook by searching for ‘Scotts Farm Ltd’. As this was our topic this term, watching these videos could be a lovely way for the children to engage further with this learning from home. I believe it is to be interactive as well and Farmer John is taking questions.

I hope everyone is doing well, there will be a few more posts this morning to support you this week in the run up to the Easter holidays.
